Benny Rios DonJuan grew up in Chicago’s Pilsen community and Cicero, Illinois. Despite a troubled childhood marked by his mother's mental health struggles, gang violence, and the wrongful conviction and subsequent murder of his brothers, Benny showed resilience. He left high school due to gang issues, earned a GED at 17, and graduated in Computer Business Systems. Now an educator and leader, Benny works with North Park University’s Stateville prison program, co-produced the song “Bring It Back,” and serves on Highpoint Church’s Leadership Team. He earned an MA in Christian Ministry and Restorative Arts and aims to start a non-profit to support returning citizens, driven by love for God and others.
